These are especially durable balloons, which can blow to their rated sizes or BIGGER . Perfect for someone looking for something to create a bit of attention. Great for class projects, store promotions, etc. These balloons are considered to be factory seconds. Slight color imperfections, as well as thinner spots in the latex skin, may be present.

Note: Instructions are included for those wishing to repair, or reinforce, any detected weak spots. Also, sizes and colors cannot be selected or chosen

Tips for reinforcing (repairing) a latex balloon with a small hole, or weak spot

Select a balloon which is suspected of having a small pin hole or weak spot in the latex rubber surface.
Inflate balloon only with enough air to give it some size, taking care not to fill excessively.
Examine partially inflated balloon against some back light to look for defects. Mark any small area to be repaired with a ball point pen, and then deflate the balloon.
Use a small 1/4" (approx.) diameter copper tube, commonly found in hobby shops, to cut a small confetti-like patch (cookie cutter style) from a piece of latex from a broken balloon . . .

Note: You will need to sharpen one end of the tube in order for it to make a good cutting surface - allowing you to make a good clean round patch. Don't attempt to use scissors to cut a round patch, since this will produce an irregularly shaped patch. A misshapen patch may cause your balloon to burst upon inflation before reaching its rated size.

Lightly wipe the area of the balloon which requires repair, and the small patch, with rubbing alcohol to remove any finger oils and / or dirt.
Use a small brush (with bristles trimmed to approx. 1/4" in length) to apply a thin coat of Elmer's Rubber Cement to both the area of the balloon needing repair, and the patch. Wait approx. 30 seconds before bonding the patch to the balloon. Once bonded use the back of a spoon, or other object, to apply pressure to ensure an intimate bond.
Wait at least 4 hrs. before inflating the balloon. If you follow these steps the balloon should inflate to a large size without the probability of bursting prematurely.
