I feel I have to tell you my story about my Hot Diggity Dogger.

My brother bought it and we used it a lot when we were room mates for a while. He moved out but left the Dogger behind so I used it at home for a while, and then on a whim brought it in to work. It was an instant hit. Everyone was amazed at how well it cooked the hotdogs *and* the buns. One of my co-workers in particular gets very excited when someone suggests that we have another "Hot Dog Day" (he uses the phrase "The Hot Diggity Goodness" a lot). And whenever anyone comes in our shipping entrance and sees the Hot Diggity Dogger (and smells the hot dogs cooking) they always ask what it is, where they can buy one, and how does it work. Then they leave, shaking their heads ("Now that's cool!"), with a smile on their face.

As a testament to how well they hold up, consider that mine is 17 years old, and in the first 6 years we had it my brother and I ate a lot of hot dogs (we were both poor bachelors back then), and for the last 5 years of it's life I've been using it at work and we have had Hot Dog Days on a fairly regular basis. I have no idea how many hot dogs it has served up but it has seen a lot of action! Yes, it's in pretty rough shape so I do plan on getting a new one soon, but this one still manages to cook up lunch for 6 people in short-order and the hot dogs are consistently good. Getting 17 years out of a toaster type appliance seems pretty amazing to me :)
