OPERATING, USE AND HINTS FOR MAKING THE PERFECT HOT DOG

Read all instructions as they are essential to the proper use of the "hot Diggity Dogger".  Before using your Hot Diggity Dogger Lunch Mate and to make the absolute World's Best tasting hot dog, it is important to review these important facts:

The Lunch Mate was designed to use standard size wieners (6 to 12 to the 1lb.) and top or side cut buns.  It has a feature that allows you to place both frozen wieners and buns into the toaster to "defrost".  By selecting "defrost", found on the front of the hot dog maker, you are choosing to defrost your wieners and buns for approximately one minute.  This can also be achieved by bringing the wiener or bun to room temperature.  Once you have "defrosted" your wiener and bun, set the variable time to your preference and depress the lever to make the perfect hot dog.  Please note: You only need to use the "defrost" button when you are placing frozen wieners and buns into the rack.  If your wieners and/or buns are at room temperature, simply place the wieners and buns into the "butterfly shaped handle safety holder".  Note: Preheating of the hot dog maker is not necessary prior to use.

Okay - now you're ready to make a better tasting hot dog!

Simply plug your Lunch Mate into a properly wired 120 volt receptacle.  The best part about this hot dog maker is that wieners and buns are placed in at the same time: which barbecues the wiener and warms the buns.  Remove the wire "colored handle holders" from inside the hot dog maker. (The "colored handle holders" are the wire racks that are found inside the hot dog maker with plastic handles, resembling butterfly wings).  Place two standard size wieners into the shorter end of the "colored handle holders" and place the opened buns in the larger end of the rack by squeezing the plastic handles together with one hand.  You can use both or one "colored handle holder".  Once you have both your wieners and buns in the "colored handle holders", simply release the handle to close.  Place your "colored handle holders" back into the hot dog maker and select the "defrost" button if the buns and wieners are frozen.  If the wieners and buns are already at room temperature simply adjust  the variable heat control knob on the side of the unit for your perfect hot dog cooking temperature.  Once selected, the hot dog maker automatically turns on.  If you change your mind at any time while your hot dogs are being cooked, simply press the "cancel" button on the side of the unit.  Once the cooking time has been reached, your perfectly grilled wiener and warm bun will automatically pop up ready to enjoy.  Simply grab the plastic handles of the "colored handle holders", and lift the racks out of the toaster.  Do not touch the metal wire racks as they will be very hot.  Squeeze the "colored handle holders" together and open on the a plate.

NOTE: Any oversized foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted into the toaster as they may involve a risk of fire or electric shock.  A fire may occur if the toaster is covered or touching something flammable (i.e.: curtains, draperies, walls) when in operation.  At no time when the toaster is on or plugged in, should you attempt to dislodge food.  Simply shut off the toaster, unplug it from the wall outlet and let it cool to room temperature.  Please see "Important Safeguards" for more information.

Apply condiments only after hot dogs and buns have been removed from the Lunch Mate.  Unplug the toaster, remove the "colored handle holders" and crumb tray (after they have completely cooled), clean and return them to the toaster and store the toaster in a safe place until its next use.  You can safely wash the "colored handle holders" in the dishwasher or using soap and water.

This appliance contains a 2-wire polarized plug (one blade wider than the other).  To reduce the risk of electric shock, fit this plug into a polarized outlet only one way.  If the plug does not fit full into the outlet, reverse the plug.  If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.  Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way or force it into the wall outlet.
